Food Processing Building

  • City of Industry, CA
  • Completed September 2013
  • HWGC/CWD, a Joint Venture

This large food processing plant had a large freezer structure built under the original roof structure.  After many years the freezer leaked and condensation and moisture attacked the wood roof system.  The freezer was completely removed and massive amounts of mold and wood rot was discovered.  In association with our sister company, Environmental Management Solutions, Inc., the mold was remediated, but some of the original glulam beams were damaged beyond repair and had to be replaced.  Duke Pacific, Inc. worked closely with the building occupant scheduling a large roof removal and replacement while not missing a single day of production.  Some glulam beams we were able to repair while others could not be saved and new beams were installed.
